My daughter is just the most wonderful person in the world to me. It is like she can do no wrong in my eyes. But I know it is also my job to help her to do well in the world. It includes having all the unconditional love, kindness, understanding and resources I can provide for her. And that includes how she looks. I know it is hard for a father to hear, but women have to look good. They will just not have as good of a life if they don't. Every woman has to put a lot of effort towards being beautiful. I believe it is part of my job as a father to help my daughter to look good. I know what a great person she is. She is kind, smart, funny and delightful in every way. But that is not enough to have a great life. A woman has to make efforts to look good. It is vital to her happiness and well being. I provided the money for my daughter to have braces on her teeth. Now I have been taking her to all her appointments since last summer. Her teeth were not good before the braces, now they are really straight. I cannot wait to see her when the braces come off and they shine up her teeth. I also cannot wait to be done paying for them. But I do not regret buying the braces. Anyone can see that a woman with bad teeth will not look as good as a woman with nice teeth. It is vital that you, her father, do what is necessary to help your daughter look good. This includes braces. It includes nice clothes. This can be expensive of course. I spend a lot of time with my daughter at Goodwill and the second hand stores. I also spend plenty of money on clothes for her at regular stores. I do not regret this money either. She is so happy with nice clothes. I just do not spend on other things that do not contribute to the quality of our lives. I do not have cable tv for example, or the most expensive cell phone and cell phone plan. I do not buy new cars of expensive housing. Makeup is critical for woman. Your daughter will most likely need makeup. This stuff is not even that expensive. You do not need to buy the best here. My daughter loves to find the deals at the Pharmacy, Walmart, the Dollar Store, Target and on-line. She is a good bargain shopper who knows what she wants. We just concentrate on the things for her that helps her look good. Weight control is a big issue for a lot of women. It is no exception with my daughter. She tends to gain like I do. I think she coped with her mother, my ex-wife, by eating too much and now is in that bad habit. So we are working on that.
But all these things can be overcome. You can help your daughter lose weight. You can get her braces. You can buy her clothes and take her shopping. You can make her feel good about herself by telling her how much she means to you, how much you love her and how beautiful and cute she is. You can encourage her beauty schedule, haircuts, nail products and clothing. It is important. I even wrote a book about Women's fashion. This book is geared toward older girls and women, but you may want to take a look if you are worried that your daughter is suffering by not looking good.
